  • When?


      • BARC meetings are the first and third Thursdays of every month, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Business meetings are the first meeting each month with your BOD meeting typically at 6:30 pm (visitors are welcome); Program meetings are the second meeting of the month. Members and visitors often gather earlier for conversation and refreshments around 6:30 PM both meetings.
      BARC Volunteer Examiner Program Test Sessions are held here the first Sunday of odd numbered months at 2:00 PM Central Time, and during the annual BirmingHAMfest each year.


  • What?


      • Social hour (coffee & soft drinks) start around 6:15 PM to 6:30 PM
      Board meetings start at 6:30 PM on the first Thursday of the month
      When Hamfest approaches, the meetings start at 6:30 PM on the third Thursday
      When training classes are held, they start at 6:30 PM
      Radio room is open for use by licensed amateurs from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM

      Take I-65, exit Alford Ave.
      Go West for 1.5 miles.
      Right at the first stop sign.
      Left at the next stop sign (1 block) onto Valley Street.
      Valley Street dead-ends at Park Ave.
      Turn left onto Park Ave.
      The Community Education Center is 1 block on the left

      Alternate route #1

      Take I-65, exit Lakeshore
      Go West 1 1/2 miles to Oxmoor Shannon Road
      Turn left and go past Church Of Christ to traffic light
      Shannon continues straight, bear left on Oxmoor at light
      Follow Oxmoor to top of mountain staying in right lane
      At top (Shades Crest) bear right or straight and go to next red light at Park Avenue
      Turn left and the Community Education Center is 1 1/2 blocks on the left

      Alternate route #2

      Take I-459 South, exit Hwy 31 North
      Go North 1/2 mile to Patton Chapel Road
      Turn left and follow to top of mountain, several miles, till you come to Park Avenue in Bluff Park
      Turn right and the Community Education Center is several blocks down on the right

      Alternate route #3

      Take I-459 North, exit Hwy 150
      Go North to Shades Crest Road
      Turn right and follow to top of mountain, several miles, till you come to Park Avenue in Bluff Park
      Turn right and the Community Education Center is 1 1/2 blocks on the left
